About AGAPAY

CEMENTING ORTHODOXY

Into the American land.

AGAPAY wasn't born in a boardroom to capture a market. It was built from within the Tradition - to help Orthodox parishes thrive, and to leave our children an inheritance of faithful stewardship.

The story

A legacy beyond the courtroom.

As an attorney, I've spent well over a decade in the service of justice - thousands of hours in courtrooms and at the desk, arguing cases and doing honorable work. But I've come to see that this work will not outlive me.

As Holy Orthodoxy continues to grow in the American land, there is a growing need for the faithful to build the infrastructure the Church uniquely requires. If Orthodoxy is to take root here for the long term, each of us has an active part to play in its growth.

That is why we built AGAPAY.

"I wanted to create something that carries the faith forward - a meaningful contribution to the missionary work of spreading the Ancient Christian faith in the West." - Rdr. Joel Dunn

The need

Love how you give.

When I looked at the platforms our parishes were using - tools like Tithe.ly and Pushpay - I saw capable software built for a different theology. They serve their purpose, but they weren't shaped by the fronema of the Ancient Church, its liturgical cycle, or its understanding of charity as a virtue.

As a tonsured Reader, I know what it means to stand in the nave at Pascha and to submit names for commemoration at the proskomedia. AGAPAY is built from the inside out - every feature and design choice reflecting the lived experience of the Orthodox Tradition. That is our foundation.

What We Believe

+

Stewardship Is Spiritual

An offering is never a transaction. It is an act of worship.

Technology Should Serve Communities

Technology must serve the altar, never stand in front of it.

Trust Matters

Every gift belongs to the Church, not the platform. We are stewards of the transfer.

"If thou hast abundance, give alms accordingly: if thou have but a little, be not afraid to give according to that little: for thou layest up a good treasure for thyself against the day of necessity. Because that alms do deliver from death, and suffereth not to come into darkness. For alms is a good gift unto all that give it in the sight of the most High."

— Tobit 4:8–11 (Brenton Septuagint, 1851)

  • A ministry finding new donors.
  • A parish growing stronger because the tools finally fit the life it already lives.

Founder Commitment

  • AGAPAY will never be built around advertising.
  • It will never sell donor data.
  • It will never treat Orthodox communities as market segments.

Our responsibility is simple:Build tools worthy of the people who use them.

We do not build software to modernize the Church; we build it to get out of the Church's way.
