Security and payments
AGAPAY protects parish and donor information with clear boundaries at payment, login, storage, and every role inside the parish.
Sensitive card and bank details are collected by Stripe-hosted Checkout. They do not pass through or get stored by the AGAPAY application, and funds settle through the parish's connected Stripe account.
Privileged users must verify a second factor using a passkey, device biometric, or authenticator code. Recovery codes provide a controlled path if a device is lost.
Directory, donation, and financial access is parish-scoped. Cross-parish requests are denied, and staff see only the capabilities assigned to their active role.
Administrative and financial actions create audit history so sensitive changes cannot be made quietly. Parish leaders can trace who did what and when.
Passwords are stored as salted PBKDF2-SHA256 hashes, not readable text. Sign-in endpoints are rate-limited, donor email ownership is verified, privileged sessions require fresh MFA assurance, and My AGAPAY supports phishing-resistant passkeys.
AGAPAY verifies Stripe webhook events using a cryptographic signature and timestamp before updating a payment record. AGAPAY stores only the identifiers and masked references needed for reconciliation. It does not initiate or approve transfers from the parish bank account.
AGAPAY runs on Cloudflare for network filtering, DDoS mitigation, and service availability. Cloudflare-managed storage is automatically encrypted at rest with AES-256. Turnstile protects sensitive public forms; its tokens expire after five minutes and can be used only once.
No responsible online service can promise zero risk. AGAPAY uses layered controls, narrow access, verified payment events, and transparent operating boundaries instead of unsupported security guarantees.
